Bengaluru: In large assistance for motorists throughout the state, SIM can now be extended without visiting regional transportation offices.
The transportation department on Monday made four more services related to DL (Sarathi) without contact / without face.
They are: updates, publishing duplicate one, change address and name in the license.
With these four new services, 10 services related to DL are now not connected.
Services such as issuance of students licenses (LL), changes in addresses in LL, DL extracts, issuance of duplicate ll, issuance of international driving licenses and changes in name in LL have been made without contact from November 2021, in the state.
Rajender Kumar Kataria, Primary Secretary, Department of Transportation, which plays a role in making this service without contact, “Without contact services such as DL updates will benefit lakh vehicle owners throughout the state.
They can take advantage of this service from the comfort of their home and pay online fees.
Immediately, citizens need to visit RTOS only for driving physical tests and fitness certificate updates (FC).
All other services will be contacted / without face, “he said.
Cathia said CM has shown special interest in making this service without a face.
The recording of the transportation department shows 23.5 lakh applicants in all states available in 2019-20 and 17.7 lakh at 2020-21.
Similarly, 6.9 lakh was applied for DL updates in 2019-20 and 6.2 lakh at 2020-21.
Officials say those who want to take advantage of faceless services must be authenticated with Aadhaar-based e-KYC (offline verification without paper).
At present, six vehicle-related services (Vahan) have been made without contact – change addresses in the registration certificate, composite costs for national transportation permits, the addition of hypotheses, continuation of hypotheses, rc duplicate problems and NOC problems.
Most still prefer notes the offline modetransport department shows 1,01,998 applications accepted via e-KYC for services related to DL (Sarathi) between November 1, 2021 and January 22, 2022.
This, 96,985 applications are discarded.
The majority application – 1.01.444 – is for LL.
However, most Sarathi applicants still use offline mode (non-e-kyc).
As many as 1.5 lakh applications are accepted through non-e-KYC during the same period.
This is the same for Vahan services too.
While the Venan portal only received 2,460 applications through mode without contact, RTOS received 74,226 applications through offline mode between November 1, 2021 and 22 January 2022.
In addition to handling corruption and brokers in RTOS, services without contact also aim to reduce crowding during a pandemic.
However, some motorists say a little RTOS still rejects the application that quotes a small error.
“Some officials insist on visiting RTOS for the most famous reasons.
Service without contact is a good step, but they must be monitored at a higher level to ensure people get this benefit without having to pay bribes or facing delays,” said a driver.
