GADAG: Keen to ensure that students contributed to poor families did not quit the study, a school principal of the government polytechnic had advanced to fund his education for the next three years.
Huligevva Kalaal, which secured 94% in SSLC, now made a decision to pursue a three-year course, even though he continued to wonder if he would be able to continue further.
Revansiddaya Malagatti, Principal Polytechnic College in Gajendragad, decided to support Huligevva as soon as he learned that the girl planned to stop his studies because of poverty.
Huligevva’s parents, Renavva and Murti Kalaal, are daily wage workers.
“We know the problem and together with members of the college acceptance assignment unit, visiting his house,” said Maliversti Toi.
“His parents said they lived with daily wages and had to pay rent for the house.
I told them that I would pay huligevva fees and other fees for a three-year diploma course and they did not need to worry.

Durgappa Mudhol, a social worker, appreciates a generous Mallagatti movement.
“We try our best to convince him that he will not face financial problems in completing a three-year course,” he said.
