Bengaluru: Head of the Karnataka Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday prohibits the practice of giving bouquets, shawls, bouquets, and memorabilia in government events, calling it a ‘unnecessary expenditure’.
The government in circular says Kannada books can be given instead.
Head of Secretary of P Ravi Kumar issued a circular on this effect in the direction of the Chairman of the Bakavaraj Bommai Minister.
Previously on that day, the minister’s leader who led the senior police official meeting refused to accept Bouquet Bunga, and said that the practice of giving garland, scarf and bouquets on behalf of the protocol must be done, in connection with “unnecessary expenditure”.
Furthermore, the Head of Secretary issued a circular direction not to provide bouquets of flowers, scarfs, bouquets of flowers, fruit baskets and memorabilia at meetings and events by state governments and government institutions.
All government heads and businesses have been asked to comply with instructions, he said.
Recently, the Minister of Energy and Kannada & Kultural who had just vowed V Sunil Kumar had appealed to those who came to greet him not to give a bouquet of flowers and gifts and asked for Kannada’s book instead, which he would donate to the library in the Karkala Electoral District .
