K'Taka Rape Box: Violator's Confidence Falling
Written by news2in

Bengaluru: The recent gang rape of a MBA student in Mysuru came amid the increase in incidents of sexual violence against women in Karnataka and reduced the punishment of the accusation.
In the first seven months of this year, 305 cases of rape have been reported from all countries, translating to nearly 44 cases a month.
According to data with state police, 485 cases were reported in 2018, 497 in 2019 and 472 in 2020, translating to the monthly average of 40-42 cases for the third year.
These cases also include Gangrapes.
However, confidence in such cases is bad.
While more than 1,300 suspects were ordered in rape cases from 2018 to 31 July 2021, only six were punished and 50 were released.
While five were accused of rape in 2018 punished and 43 were released, the appropriate number fell to zero and seven in 2019, and one and zero in 2020.
There was no confidence or liberation in the cases ordered this year.
Cases where no belief or release is still tried.
The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP-Crime) R Hitendra said the conviction and release reported for several years the concerns of cases were ordered that year.
“If rape was reported in 2018 and the belief was announced in 2020, confidence would be included under the head of 2018,” he said.
A senior police officer said the chargesheet submission in a 60-day period was determined playing an important role in making suspects punished.
“Survivor statement is the most important document for chargesheet without defects.
But in some cases, they tend to change their version of the pressure from the family and others, and fear social stigma.
This is why we ask women to record their voluntary statements before the judge below 164 CRPC because this statement applies, it cannot be changed and helps in confidence, “he said.
However, officers acknowledged that the awareness of voluntary statements was relatively low in rural areas.
“Even after explaining the importance, many victims refused to record voluntary statements,” he said.
The Public Prosecutor of Gayathri GV Tumakuru said a survivor statement and medical records were very important to get accusations punished.
“The statements made by Survivors and Witnesses must remain unchanged through the trial.
In some cases, where the defendant will be known safely, their families tend to attack the compromise that includes marriage.
The most important stage in the experiment is proof of evidence.
Sometimes, there will be a big gap between the date of the incident and the date of the start of evidence.
It is as long as the survivors and witnesses should not change, “he said.
Collecting body samples for medical examinations is also important.
The doctor at work must have the knowledge of the quality and quantity of the sample to be collected.
A little incompatibility in sampling will provide negative results and destroy this case, he added.
