BENGALURU: The state government’s decision to roll out the internet khata method to get rid of middlemen and finish surplus procedural flaws had an unintended outcome.
A couple unscrupulous officers beat the system by replicating blanksheets and insignificant documents rather than real khata certificates.
On the other hand, that the Sakala Mission, that ensures timebound delivery of taxpayer services, has plugged the loophole.
Khata certifications will be verified prior to being offered to applicants.
This follows complaints from candidates who certificates they’d downloaded were wrong or sterile.
Ever since the internet khata system premiered in BBMP regions in February 2018, 2.9 lakh programs were also received.
The software pertain to four kinds of requests: transport, enrollment, bifurcation along with amalgamation.

“This is a part of the electronic steps introduced to make all of trades contactless, paperless and cashless.
This also increased transparency,” said additional chief secretary (e-governance) Rajiv Chawla.
But some lower-rung officials battled with khata delivery sidestep the directives because of vested interests.
“They began fleecing applicants by simply uploading blanksheets, maybe not scanning correctly and by placing up incorrect documents.
They needed applicants to reconcile offline using their guys and receive the job completed,” sources said.
Approximately 1,200 applicants whined Sakala.
Probe shown that almost 20 percent of internet khatas were sterile sheets and incorrect documents.
IAS officer and Added Mission Director (Sakala) BR Mamatha stated:”We pioneered steps to make sure citizens get the appropriate records punctually.
We are going to determine whether the official has uploaded the khata record prior to the offender has got it.
The official is going to be alerted when a incorrect document has been issued.” But, earnings officials assert the move doesn’t undermine their function.

“If a few apartment owners implemented and others didn’t, the programs had been rejected.
As many apartment owners remain overseas or other nations, obtaining khatas jointly was a struggle,” explained Mamatha.
Sakala eased the process allowing municipal sub-numbers to be produced if a single horizontal owner uses for a khata because of his apartment and following applications would proceed.
Chawla reported that the BBMP commissioner will work against earnings officers if fresh khatas aren’t issued within 30 days of program.
