Bengaluru: Ballari, Haveri and Dharwad Districs registered the highest Covid-19 mortality rate in the state between July 2 and 8.
The numbers were 40.4 percent, 11.4 percent and 24.3 percent respectively.
Except for Ballari and Dharwad, no other district has a level of more than 20 percent.
In Ballari, 131 Covid-19 cases, including 59 deaths, were reported in a seven-day period, while in Haveri, there were a total of 70 cases and seven deaths.
Dharwad saw 164 cases, including 40 deaths.
Health officials in Ballari claim that deaths that occurred were previously reported now.
The district stands third in terms of the cumulative mortality rate (1.7 percent) in the state.
Dharwad is placed second with a cumulative mortality rate of slightly more than 2 percent.
“People will panic already announced (actual) mortality when the second wave is at its peak.
We state fatal cases one by one.
In some cases, the patient’s details are not uploaded on the portal on time, which delayed data,” said District Health Officer Ballari Dr.
Hl Janardhan.
“Daily positive cases in the district have fallen below 50.
Compared to cases, mortality rates have increased, but the cumulative level is only 1.7 percent.” Haveri District Health Officer, Dr.
HS Raghavendraswamy said that the district mortality rate was rather high in the past week.
The Expert Committee has visited the area to study the cause.
“We will soon learn the reason and will comply with the committee’s recommendations to reduce interest rates,” he said.
The State Congress of the work of President Saleem Ahmed accused the government to hide the real covid numbers.
