Koppal: A covid-19 patient consumed from the Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) on Monday after 158 days – more than five months – treatment.
Staff at the hospital in Koppal Regency said this is the longest thing that has ever been patients with viral infections must remain in hospitals and, maybe, stay longest even in the state.
Dr.
Venugopala K, medical supervisor, KimS, said the 43-year-old woman was accepted at the State Hospital on July 3 when the second wave of Covid-19 infection was at its peak.
He needed ventilator support for a surprising 104 days.
“Later, he is in the Cannula nose highflow [medical oxygen] for eight days,” said Dr.
Venugopala.
“He needs 15-20 liters of oxygen per minute,” he said.
The source at KimS said that his lungs suffered damage 93% and he had great breathing.
“Because his condition is very important, he is stored in the ICU from the start.
The case is a big challenge for our doctor’s team,” said the staff.
