Guwahati: A Twitter post on Thursday showed 35-year-old Riyajul Hussain threatened to end his life because he could not get Aadhaar registration after the biometrics was frozen during the renewal process of the national list of residents (NRC).
“During hearing NRC in 2019, I gave my biometric.
To take advantage of several government schemes, we need aadhaar numbers.
However, despite the repetitive efforts, I did not get my aadhaar number because my details were locked.
This is a mental torture and I don’t Have a choice but to end my life, “Riyajul told Toi.
A Guwahati student, Arya Agarwal, said he and his family faced a problem in making a passport because they did not have Adhaar numbers.
“For the NRC biometric key problem, we cannot get our Adaar card.
As a result, we are rejected by most of the government facilities.
We cannot receive a ticket to foreign universities,” Agarwal said.
Partha Debnath, 42, said the Provident Fund Account (PF) will be blocked because of the absence of aadhar cards.
“I worked in a private company and I was on the verge of losing it.
I can’t file a return and face big difficulties because of the problem of Aadhar,” said Debnath.
Sumit Kumar Dey, 24, said he could not make a bank account because of a mandatory aadhar card.
“I can’t even apply for a job.
I have also been denied work.
My existing bank account has been postponed,” Dey said.
For the 19-year-old Taniya Joshi, getting an educational loan is unlikely because he does not have aadhar card.
Bagaiigaon’s Bikash Nath has not been able to download its CTET certificate from DigiLocker App.
Aadhaar registration of more than 27 lakh people has envelected uncertainty due to delays in completing the national list of residents’ national lists (NRC).
Biometric 27.43,396 people were collected during claims and phases of objection from NRC training before the complete draft publication on August 31, 2019.
They included 19.06.657 people who came out of the complete draft.
The biometric of these people was frozen after the NRC publication in August 2019.
Minister of Assam for the General Administration, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, answered Aiudf’s question MLA Ashraful Hussain, told the center to decide whether this is in the middle or not 27.43 people will get their aadhaar cards ,
