Bengaluru: Commemorating the Centenar Birth of Legendary Cartoonist and Magsaysay Awardman Awardman Awardman, Indian Cartoonist Institute has organized the Laxman @ 100 exhibition.
Inaugurated on October 23, the exhibition with 172 displays will be open to the public until November 13.
The exhibition witnessed a step from 100 cartoonist fans on the first day.
Exhibition includes 50 photos of Laxman and 72 cartoons and illustrations by it.
They include cartoons and political illustrations, not published Doodles, Rama’s tenalian sketch, Wagle Ki Duniya, a TV comedy event based on Laxman’s layman.
“Laxman is very fond of crows.
We have also featured a few cartoons, and also Koravanji cartoons,” said VG Narendra, Cartoonist and managing the Trustee of the Indian Cartoonist Institute.
Narendra remembered that Laxman was an inspiration for many people.
“I grew up by appreciating and imitating him, to start, before I discovered my own style.
He supported us when IIC was founded in 2001.
The gallery was founded in 2007.
Laxman has visited the gallery in 2009 and appreciated the effort.
He was very happy With the first cartoon gallery and the only one in India, “said Narendra.
“Laxman stands alone as an important caricature artist of a moment of life, a simple moment, moments passed by us which he brought the next morning for the revision.
