Guwahati: The Legislative Assembly Speaker Rebati Mohan Das resigned from his position on Thursday amid a boiling debate with BJP in power in the state.
Secretary of the Council of Bishnu Pala Karmakar told the media that the watershed submitted his resignation letter to Deputy Speaker Bandhu Sen.
The watershed quoted the ‘land personnel’ as a reason for his resignation.
A former CPI-M leader, DAS joined BJP in 2016 and was chosen as the Assembly in the 2018 Pratapgarh assembly chair.
