BENGALURU: Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday reported the decision regarding the future of lockdown was probably to June 5 or 4, following discussion with specialists and based on the Covid-19 scenario from the country.
The country is now under lockdown until June 7.
“Following June 4 or 5, I’ll talk together (specialists ), also considering how a (Covid) situation improves by then, we’ll take a conclusion,” Yediyurappa informed reporters.
Earlier in the afternoon, wellness minister Sudhakar had stated a decision about the potential for lockdown needs to be obtained to a scientific foundation because it’s directed at saving lives and also the Chief Minister may require a last call after analyzing the report by specialists and talking cabinet colleagues.
“Until late night that they (nation’s Covid-19 technical advisory committee( comprising specialists ) have held talks, they’ll submit me the accounts now, I’ll talk about it with the ministry now itself.
Most likely the Chief Minister will talk about it with the cupboard and take a last choice,” he explained.
Based on reports, TAC has urged the authorities to expand the lockdown at least one more week.
While many ministers have voiced their opinion in favor of this lockdown, some have indicated that it needs to be rolled back gradually.
Batting in favor of this lockdown, earnings minister Ashoka said talks are on along with also the chief minister is going to take a decision according to professional opinion.
He stated,”according to professional opinion and positivity speed a choice will soon be accepted.
In Delhi instances (per day ) have fallen below 1,000 following lockdown, in Bengaluru it’s still about 5,000 and Karnataka’s figures remain at approximately 20,000, it must come under 500 at Bengaluru and 2,000-3,000 cases from the nation,” he explained, adding it wasn’t appropriate to start up with no figures coming down.
