Mangaluru: A man was arrested on Saturday from Mangalore International Airport for allegedly smuggling gold worth Rs 5,58,900 from Dubai.
Gold, in the form of a cable, is hidden in hairbands and weighing 115g, said the indirect tax council and customs (CBIC).
Accused of being arrested from Murdeshwar and arrived from Dubai when he was arrested.
Gold has been confiscated and a case has been registered with the defendant.
Further investigation is underway.
