Guwahati: A Tezpur Medical College student, a police officer, three Maulanas, a teacher and a journalist, among the 15 people who have been arrested by the Police Assam in the last 12 hours for alleged posting a message about the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
Minister of Himanta’s minister Buswa Sarma has directed the police to take action against the defendant without “fear and assistance”.
Sarma in Tweet said, “Need cooperation from everyone to maintain peace and harmony.

The other three profiles from where similar posts made on Facebook were people from Assam but settled in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and one in Mumbai.
Medical students arrested, Nadim Akhtar (23), was picked up from his house in Hailakandi.
The police have been identified as Saidul Hoque.
Assam Unit Secretary Jamiat Maulana Fazlul Karim Qasimi was arrested at Darrang District, while a journalist, Rafikul Islam, was arrested on Saturday night in the Bada District.
Other Arrested People Are Abu Bakkar Siddique from Kecatrupup (R), Jawed Mazumder from Cachar, Mozidul Islam from Barpeta, Faruk Hussain Khan from Barpeta, Saiyad Ahmed from Dhubri, Arman Hussain from Dhubri, Khandakar Nur Alom from South Salmara, Maulana Yaseen Khan from Goalpara, Maulana Basiruddin Laskar from Hojai, Mujib Uddin from Karimganj and Mortuza Hussain Khan from Karimganj.
These people have been ordered under various parts of the activity that violates the law (prevention), it acts and CRPC.
DG specifically advised people to be careful about posting inflammatory social media posts, including retweeting or liking it, inviting criminal acts.
