Bengaluru: A 30-year-old garment entrepreneur was arrested for allegedly taking a nude picture of a woman and extorting money from him.
The defendant was Abhishek aka SUSHANTH Jain, a resident of HSR layout and from Chhattisgarh.
According to the police, the 28-year-old woman lived in an apartment in Kodigehalli.
He knew Jain through the dating application on January 29.
He then collected Instagram / Telegram account details and cellphone numbers.
He tried to make a video call, which he refused.
Jain again contacted him on February 1 and said he wanted to marry her.
He lowered his address and met him in his flat.
He demanded sexual assistance and managed to convince him to lift his clothes.
He took his picture without his knowledge, police said.
“Within minutes left the flat, he asked him to transfer money to his account because he needed to buy a cellular charger.
He transferred Rs 3,450 using a digital payment application.
Then, he sent him some nude and demanding Rs 8,000.
He threatened to share photos with friends His family and family if he refused, “said a police officer.
The woman approached the Kodigehalli police, which registered the case below the IPC 354B section (attack or use of criminal forces against a woman with painful intention), 384 (extortion), and several parts of the Information Technology Act.
Jain was traced to his residence in the HSR layout and was arrested.
Probe Introduction revealed that he had committed a similar violation before and extorted another woman.
The police sent his cellphone for forensic investigations.
