Bengaluru: Under the criticism of the passenger, BMRCL extended its operating hours since Saturday.
Namma Metro will be available from 6am to 10pm.
The last train from Terminal (Kengeri, Byappanahalli, Nagasandra and Silk Institute) will depart at 9.30 a night.
At present, Metro services are from 7am to 8pm.
Although there was a request to expand the service, especially after reopening the school and office, BMRCL insisted on stopping it at 8pm because the curfew at 9pm.
On Friday, the Managing Director of BMRCL Anjum Parwez announced the extension of the service.
“The frequency of Metro trains can be increased / decreases on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and during different periods depending on protection” said Head of BMRCL Public Relations Officer Bl Yashavanth Chavan.
Arun Kumar, an ordinary Metro passenger, said: “Private vehicles move freely after 9pm, but no public service buses and metro trains.
It is unfair to limit public transport users at night.
BMTC and Namma Metro must operate from hours 5 am to midnight.
“BMTC operates its service between 5am and 10 nights.
However, there is only a framework service after 7pm, with the last departure at 9pm.
With BMRCL expand services until 10pm, BMTC will also extend operating hours at night.
Metro users have also complained about the closure of many entries and exits.
Alternative entrances and out at the station have closed quotes pandemic and this forces commuters to take a long detour or at risk of crossing a busy road to reach the station.
