Aizawl: The Mizoram government ordered the ratiiri of purchases of diesel and gasoline as a movement of vehicles, including tankers carrying fuel, continuing to stay on the national highway-306.
Orders issued by the Ministry of Food, Civil and Consumer Affairs on Friday said that the state could face a large fuel crisis, which came through the neighboring Assam, because of the border disputes between countries.
“All filling stations are instructed not to remove gasoline and diesel outside the number that is permitted.
Only vehicles going to the charging station will be issued by oil,” the Order said.
The amount of fuel that can be purchased during heavy motorized vehicles such as six, eight and twelve wheels is limited to 50 liters, and 20 liters for medium motorized vehicles such as pick-up trucks.
A maximum of three liters of oil is allowed for scooters, five liters for the other two-wheeled, and 10 liters for cars, said Ordo.
Trucks carrying rice bags, oil and LPG will be allowed to get fuel, which will be enough enough to go up and down, he said.
Fuel images in containers or gallon barrels from the charging station are strictly prohibited, said.
The order also said that all charging stations must submit active stock positions to the state legal metrology department every day.
They should not distribute oil without prior permission from the supply department when their stock position is at 5,000 liters for gasoline and 7,000 liters for high-speed diesel, he added.
All filling stations will open from 6am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday.
The vehicle movement on the NH-306 continued to be closed even when the Assam government attracted a advisory about traveling in Mizoram, following the border clashes between the two northeastern countries, officials said.
Because most Mizoram equipment came through Assam through NH-306, no vehicle movement for the past two weeks has reached resources, including important items, they said.
