Aizawl: In 638, Mizoram reported the Covid-19 cases of the highest fifth in the country in the last 24 hours on Wednesday, and the highest among eight northeastern states.
Among the total number of cases reported in the last 24 hours in the region, the state contributed 61.82% of new cases and 54.10% of active cases on Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Health and family welfare.
The active case on Wednesday was dipped 6,024 from Tuesday 6,064.
However, the victim remained at 436 without death related to Covid reported in the last 24 hours.
The state also recorded the highest level positivity rate (TPR) in the last 24 hours in the region of 10.32%.
The Mizoram recovery rate increased from 94.72% on Tuesday night to 94.75% on Wednesday night.
Of the total 1,22,992 people were infected, 1,16,532 had recovered.
The member of the State Level Expert Committee on Covid-19 management said that the TPR daily slipped below 5%, pandemics could not be considered as contained.
They also advise people to undergo tests if they show symptoms, due to early detection and important care in saving lives.
