Monsoon intensifies in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi

MANGALURU/ / UDUPI: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Monday witnessed widespread moderate to heavy rains.
The twin districts continue to be under Orange alert until Wednesday.
Though the majority of the Dakshina Kannada town has been bereft of artificial flood, Mahamaya Temple street was fully in knee deep water.
There has been traffic gridlock all around town, particularly at Nanthoor Circle at which the car queue expanded until Bikarnakatte flyover on one side and until Padua School on another.
Even the Mahaveer Circle flyover region observed no waterlogging, following the police woke up to previous fortnight’s flood and cleared all of the storm water drains.
In town, the typical regions which watched inundation such as Kodialguthu and Kottara watched not even waterlogging.
So was the event of low lying regions of Jappinamogaru.
Some regions such as Valencia and also Jeppu Seminary Road watched waterlogging but it removed after storms let up temporarily.
The incessant rains in Bantwal taluk in the last two times resulted in by hillock to cave and four homes have been inundated in Peraje village following the mudslide blocked the rain in the region.
The well from the chemical was also full of mud.
The homes belong to Johra Aboobakker, Nabisha Basheer, Avvamma and Sulaiman.
Gram Panchayat President Rohini along with other officials visited the place and took inventory of the circumstance.
The offenders of the four homes are changed to their own kins areas.
The GP officials have been trenching the region to permit stream of water.
