Guwahati: More than 6,000 people, including 1,933 children from 96 villages in two East District Assam in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh, have been beaten by floods in the last 24 hours even when heavy rain continues to attack the country.

The floods, especially Brahmaputra, have caused erosion in several places in Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Barpeta, Dhemaji, Goalpara, Morigaon, Kokrajhar, and the South Salmara District.
Brahmaputra also flows above the level of danger in two places.
