Bengaluru: A mother of a seven-year-old child has launched an online petition to ask the state government to reopen the school for the primary class.
Nazrin Balan said when schools have been reopened throughout the world and in many parts of India, children aged 3-11 in Karnataka have been abandoned because of the belief that “basic education is somehow not urgent” as a secondary school.
“We see their colleagues in other countries and countries back to school,” he said.
He said younger children were more likely to follow directions than the older because of the respect they had for authority.
“In the last five weeks of learning on campus for class 6-12, it has become a younger student who has taken a safety protocol like wearing a mask and washing hands more diligently.
We have also seen it in our community, where the younger ones play with Their mask.
It’s an older who can’t keep them, “he said in the petition.
He also said there was no surge seen in the case after class 6-12 reopened.
In addition, there are no scientific studies that show younger children are more susceptible to Covid-19.
“Basic learning is social action and these children have not studied together since March 10, 2020.
The decision could not wait longer.
These children do not have time to lose, they have wasted time,” he said.
