Bengaluru: The Mumbai-Karnataka region will be renamed as ‘Kitur Karnataka Region’ because there is no point in maintaining the old name when the border dispute often arises, said Minister of Basavara Basavai on Monday.
“We recently renamed the Hyderabad-Karnataka region as Kalyana Karnataka.
We have now decided to change the name of the Mumbai-Karnataka area as ‘Kitur Karnataka’ in the coming days,” said the minister was announced during Karnataka RajyotsaVa, which was celebrated for Commemorating the establishment of Karnataka State 65 years ago.
CM seems to be referring to recurring claims made by Maharashtra politicians who demanded the merger of the District of Bentaiavi and several border areas of Karnataka with Maharashtra due to the presence of a substantial marathi population.
He also said that the decision for this effect will be taken at the coming cabinet meeting.
Explain the reason behind the naming of the district group in Carturtur-Karnataka, Bommai said, “After the unification of Karnataka, our border disputes began and had been resolved but we heard a fight.
Is there a meaning to keep the Mumbai-Karnataka region when many things happen? What’s the use Call it Mumbai-Karnataka? “He argued that changes in the region should occur in 1956 when the state reorganization law began to apply.
Saying that changing mere names is not enough until the standard of living people in the region improves and development occurs, Bommai says imbalances and regional gaps must also go and all regions must grow together.
The minister’s chairman said his government made efforts to end regional differences with oath not to leave any area in the country behind.
“We are also committed to preparing an action plan for the development of ‘Kiture Karnataka Region’,” said Bommai.
He also told the meeting that the funds for the Kalyana Karnataka region which borders Telangana will be doubled in the next budget and the RS 3,000 Crore will be allocated for that purpose.
Speaking of Kannada Rajyotsava, Bommai said the Covid-19 situation forced the government to regulate events in a limited way but pandemics could not reduce the respect and love of the government for Kannada.
Bommai claims that the 21st century is about the importance, goals, and self-esteem.
Going into the history of Kannada and Kannadigas, said CM, there are rulers of Kannadianga who rule neighboring countries such as Kadamba, Chalukya, and the Vijayanagara Empire.
Bommai said Kannada showed unique internal forces to survive even in the face of attacks by foreign invaders.
“Even when the ruler of other regions taking control here, Kannada managed to save himself.
The language was with an attack of foreign troops and standing firm.
It was possible to have his own internal strength, which we should not forget.
There is no power to destroy Kannada,” Word of the ministerial head.
CM said the government had provided the most important for Kannada which made compulsory language in higher education with new national education policies.
He also said that his government had made efforts to teach techniques in Kannada media.
Bommai emphasized that his government wanted that Kannadiangas must reach 75 percent of work in work in the government, private and semi-government industries in Karnataka.
Previously, CM offered its compliance to Bhuvaneshwari Devi, Mrs.
Dewi Karnataka and lifted the Kannada flag along with national tricolor at the Kanegerava Stadium.
