Jammu: Your Cyber Jammu Police on Wednesday said that it had arrested a woman from Ludhiana in Punjab because of its alleged involvement in the case of retirement fraud Rs 34 Lakh.
Police Supervisors (SP), Cyber cells, Naresh Singh said that the defendant was identified as Daljit Kaur, a resident of Sahnewal City.
“The case is below the 66-D section of the IT law, and part 420 IPC has been registered at the Cyber Police Station at Jammu,” he said.
SP said that one Inder Pal Singh from Colony Bank State has submitted a complaint with cyber police accusing that he was deceived by fraudsters who were unknown to the pretext of the Canadian Pension Fund unit at a good return appointment.
“The complainants are caught up in the offer and consequently lost the RS 34 Lakh in 36 successive bank transactions,” SP said.
“During the investigation, the police managed to identify the Daljit Kaur, the three bank accounts were used to deposit RS 24 Lakh from a complainant account.” “The police team arrested the defendant from Snehawal and won two cellphones, SIM cards, eight bank savings books and two ATM cards from ownership,” the officer said.
