Bengaluru: As a second of six phase 2 Metro stretches operated, the corridor identified by BMRCL two years ago for development below phase 3 still remained in the planning stage.
“We propose to take phase 3 in two corridors: Orr West Line (Kempapa-net to JP Nagar Phase 4, covering 32.1 km) and Jalan Magadi (Hosokalli Station to Kadabagere – 12.8km).
Detailed project reports are being prepared, “A BMRCL official said.
In 2019, BMRCL identified three corridors under phase 3: Magadi toll gate to Kadabagere (13km), Whitefield – Domlur (16km) and Katamnallur Gate (near Hoskote) -Sarjapur Road-Hebbal (52km).
The 34km underground corridor along the inside of the Ring Road and Hebbal to JP Nagar (ORR-West) is also proposed.
Phase 2 The land acquisition of “land acquisition for phase 2 has been completed and works in parts of various stages of settlement.
The entire network will be completed in March 2025,” the official said.
In the Orr 58.2 km airport line, the civil contract has been awarded and 100% land acquisition ends for the Ring Phase 2A road from the Puram Central-KR Silk Board.
For phase-2b (KR Puram-KIA), civil tender is in the advanced stage and must be given in October 202.
