Shimla: Highway National 5 has been blocked because landslides in the Shimla District at Himachal Pradesh, said a state disaster management official on Tuesday.
Landslides occurred near Khachi Mod in Theog on Monday night, he said.
Efforts are cleaning the road.
People have been advised to use alternative routes, the official said.
The alternative route of Sarion-Halai-Sandhu in terms of Shimla and Sandhu-Jadeog-Devimor (via Chikkar) from the side of the narkanda can be used by lightweight motorized vehicles and two-wheeled, he said.
Traffic in Dhalli was being transferred through Kingal Basantapur to the road cleaned, he said.
