Kalaburagi: deny that he lobby to replace the Minister of Chief BS Yediyurappa, who seemed to be on his way out, Mines Karnataka and Geology Minister Muruesh R Nirani said he would obey every decision taken by the BJP Central Leadership.
Overcoming reporters here, Nirani said he was an ordinary BJP official and it was his duty to attend the party.
The minister further added that BJP is a disciplined party and unlike other parties lobbying for posts will not function here.
When Yediyurappa announced that he would obey the upper leadership instruction on July 25, speculation was rampant that NRANTI was among those who would become the head of the next minister.
“There is no instruction to replace the chairman of Yediyurappa’s Minister Nirani, who visited Delhi about two weeks ago and called his ‘success’ visit, repeating his support to Yediyurappa.
For questions about the lobby, Nirani said, “I never lobby to post anything in my life.
I will assume the responsibility given to me by the party.
Our national leaders will choose the right person for all factors.” By stating that he was not after any post, the minister said all 120 BJP legislators were eligible to become the main minister.
He added that he got a lot of position without aspiring for one and made by the minister by the party after being elected for the first time.
“Even now I was awarded with great responsibility.
I have never aspiring for any post in the past and I will not do now,” Nirani clarified.
When his visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi sparked speculation that he went to find a blessing before assuming a new role, the minister tried to decrease it.
Asking people not to draw conclusions from the visanation of his visit, he said he had the habit of visiting temples since childhood and went there once in one or two months.
Nirani, three times BJP MLA, is an industrialist who has a MRN group, who runs a sugar factory.
