Bengaluru: After several years of controversy, the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) has announced a 25% horizontal ordering order for Karnataka students for the BA LLB (Hons) program and the LLM program from 2021-22.
The university will increase intake, introduce three-year LLB courses and 30% horizontal reservations for women in the coming years.
30% horizontal reservation for women will be implemented in stages over the next four years.
After trying to hold back the government’s interference and court battle, Nlsiu announced the introduction of the domicile quota.
Candidates who have studied because no less than 10 years in educational institutions recognized in Karnataka will be considered Karnataka students.
Candidates who want to take advantage of reservations must update their online CAT-2021 application by selecting the ‘Karnataka Student’ option against NLSII, Bengaluru, on the booking tab.
Students must keep their certificates released by their schools that are ready to be submitted during counseling / entrance tickets, notification words.
Total intake is 120 for the LLB program.
According to the new seat matrix, at 15% order for SCS, 13 is all-Indian students and 5 Karnataka students.
In a 7.5% quota for STS, 7 is for all-Indian students and 2 Karnataka students.
In the general category, 70 is for all-Indian students and 23 Karnataka students.
With this, 30 seats are provided for Karnataka students.
Six seats consisting of 5% of total intake will be given horizontally for people with disabilities.
In LLM, 2 of the eight seats under the SC quota, 1 in four under the Category ST and 10 of the 38 in the general category are for Karnataka students.
