Bengaluru: Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Thursday clarified that there was no flyover on the outer ring road (Central Silk Board – K Puram) will be destroyed.
BMRCL states that there are five footer-bridges (FOBs) in this corridor.
From this, two FOB will be affected at this time.
“FOB at the upcoming Belllandur Metro Station violates the level of construction, which needs to be eliminated.
However, after the construction of the Bellandur Station can be used as FOB,” said the Press Release BMRCL.
“FOB between the Ibbalur and Bellandur Metro Station breaks the bridge will be moved on both sides of the location around 60-70 meters where enough vertical permits are available”, he said.
“The FOB is adjacent to the embassy building that also breaks with the P282 dock location will not be dismantled / transferred because BMRCL modifies its range to facilitate the construction of Metro”, he said.
“Others in FOB construction between the Ibalur and Bellandur metro stations are free from violations and does not require relocation or dismantling”, he said.
For the FOB proposed after the Kadubesanahalli Metro Station, BMRCL has searched for details from the BBMP for the free distance needed for Viaduct construction.
Head of BMRCL Public Relations Officer B L Yashavanth Chavan, in a statement said: “It is also clarified that no flyover on ORR will be destroyed, but the metro construction will be carried out in the space available between the split flipover locations” he added.
