Guwahati: Three leaders from the Northeast – Former Assam CM Sarbanou Sonowal, Lok Sabha MPS Pratima Bhoonik (Tripura) and Rajkumar Ranjan Singh (Manipur) – has been appointed in the ministers’ Union Council, increasing representatives from the region within the Ministry of Modi to Lima.
While Sonowal has been appointed as the Minister of Cabinet, Bhoonik and Singh get a place to anchor as a Minister of State.
“With a blessing of my parents and the Assam, took an oath as a member of the Hon’ble PM @Narendramodi Ji.
It is a rare honor to once again serve the nation with historic Jambaran under Dynamic Leadership Modiji,” Sonowal tweeted.

The head of Minister Assam Himanta Buswa Sarma expressed his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi to provide a form on the new union cabinet which he said was inclusive , Ageless and focus on “Nari Shakti”.
He called Sonowal and extended warm expectations for his new term.
“The appointment is a matter of pride for every Person Assam.
Sarba Da brought him with a very large administrative experience & would be an asset in the Union cabinet,” Sarma Tweeted.
For Sonowal, the induction in the Modi Cabinet came as a prize for the graceful way as the lead Minister of Assam from BJP.
Following BJP’s leadership instructions, he descended from the CM seat.
Sonowal is the president of the influential Assam Student Union (Aasu).
Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, who is known as RK Ranjan and “Ojha” (Teacher), won at BJP tickets in Lok Sabha 2019 polls from the inner Manipur parliamentary constituency.
Ranjan is a Doctorate degree in Geographa Residen Kongba Nandeibam Leikai in Manipur’s Imphal East District, Ranjan (69) is a gelactor in geography and an environmental recorder.
After his defeat in the 2014 Sabha Lok election on BJP tickets, he continued to mobilize BJP waves along and the extent of the country.
Pratima Bhoonik (52) was chosen as a MP as a BJP nomination in 2019.
He comes from a humble background and get used to farming in his home village in the city bordering Sonamura from Western Pepatijala Regency.
After getting a title in 1991, Bhoonik returned to his village to support his father on the farm.
He was interested in Rashtriya SwayamSevak Sangh and then involved in BJP.
Chairman of the Minister of Biplab Kumar Deb and his deputy, Jishnu Dev Varma, congratulated Bhoonik and said that Tripura, after 75 years of independence, had been truly represented in the city center.
