Bengaluru: In what can spell relief for motorists in all states, the government on Monday launched transportation services without contact.
This initiative includes 30 transportation services, including 19 Venings (related to vehicle registration) and 11 Sarathi (SIM).
The transportation department official said this would reduce crowding in RTOS around 70% and save around 70 crore paper per year.
CM Basilvaraj Bommai said almost 60 lakh people visited RTOS throughout the state in one year.
“With this step, the number of visited RTOS will decrease,” he said, adding to them now to authorize the dealer to register new vehicles online to reduce delays.
“We will give permission to 10 dealers first.
Based on the pilot, it will be extended throughout the country,” CM said.

Officials say the service includes the issuance of student licenses, motorized vehicle registration with the body built fully, changes in names in LL, transfer of motor vehicle ownership, issuance of duplicate registration certificates and address changes in the RC.
