Dibrugarh: Khonsa Battalion forces from Rifles Assam and Tirap Police have arrested six members of various rebel groups, including NSCN (IM) and the National Government of East Dragon (EnNG), and restoring weapons and ammunition from their ownership in Arunachal Pradesh Tirap Regency.
The arrest occurred after a series of operations carried out from September 9 to September 10 September operations to arrest them.
The rebels were reportedly involved in extortion, abduction and other evil activities on local residents in the Diap district, he added.
Team together arrested three armed rebels and based on their information, three more were arrested.
The team also restored six pistols, alme, opium and extortion money.
The statement added that during interrogation, rebels revealed that they had kidnapped a 28-year-old woman and placed it under the arrest of a house in Longbo Village since June.
They suspected he provided information on underground cadres to security forces.
According to Assam rifles, guerrillas said they were involved in kidnapping employees of the rural worker department from his residence in Sanliam Tiap Village, after they tortured him and extorted Rs 3 Lakh from him.
Then, the rebels closed his eyes again and handcuffed him, took him to the forest and beat him.
They also asked him to pay Rs 10 lakh.
