Chandigarh: 90% of cases of dengue fever in the city have been reported in October, but public health experts believe that the number will breastfeed after Diwali.
The number of cities is 854 since January.
Of these, 770 cases were reported in October alone.
“We have seen 25 and 30 cases every day.
But in two more weeks, they will decrease.
The highest number is seen in October because the weather is beneficial for dengue mosquitoes to breed,” said a public health expert.
In 2021 had seen the highest cases since three years – 301 in 2018, 286 in 2019 and 265 in 2020.
“Spike in this case is caused by the delay in the rain,” said an expert.
October has become the most profitable season for dengue mosquitoes because there is rain during this month.
“It has become an unusual season.
There are several studies that show that Covid has caused low immunity and therefore, most people are vulnerable to viral infections now.
It still needs to be established well with a massive study,” said a doctor Pgi.
Viruses are transmitted to humans with infected mosquito bites -Aedes egypti.
When mosquitoes bite someone who is infected with a virus, mosquitoes spread it to others but it itself can survive the virus.
