Amritsar: The remnants of ancient construction are believed to be interest, residence like a tunnel, found during the construction of ‘Jora Ghar’ (shoe locker) near the Golden Temple on Thursday night.
There was a note that had not been confirmed from 82 Bungas around the Golden Temple of the MISL Sikh Period.
Shiroman Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Secretary Chief Harjinder Singh Dhami confirmed that he had found a “old tunnel” during excavation for the foundation of ‘Jora Ghar’.
He said SGPC had told the deputy commissioner and requested verification of the authenticity of the old structure.
SGPC has stopped all construction around the old structure.
