Guwahati: The first phase of the sale of liquor Online at Assam has been limited to the Corporation Municipal Guwahati area and it comes into force with the direct effect, the State Excise Ministry said on Friday.
This will be extended to other parts of the country gradually.
Notifications issued by the Excise Ministry said that the steps had been taken because the restrictions induced by the Covid imposed by the government and the Supreme Court and Madras High Court allowed non-direct sales, including online liquor delivery, to avoid density.
“Online sales of all Indian foreign liquor (IMFL) / beer / state in retail shops ‘Off’ in the Guwahati Municipal Corporation area have been introduced,” said a government statement on Friday.
There are 306 IMFL stores in Guwahati.
Countries such as West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala and Punjab have introduced online sales and liquor delivery of liquor.
“Given the pandemic, the situation (it) exists, which makes it necessary to allow the sale of online liquor which will also curb consumption of prohibited liquor,” said the statement.
Permissions for online sales through the application will only be given as long as the Indian / beer / retail / retail / retailer has a valid license.
Amtron has been authorized by the State Excise Ministry to provide an online platform for this purpose that will help meet the limited requirements of users in the view of the Covid-19 situation that applies in Assam.
Director Amtron Mahendra Kumar Yadava said the application name was Onlibar and was in the development stage.
“Someone can go to the www.onlibar.in portal and give advice for improvement,” Yadava said.
Cleaning retailers must enroll in the application by providing a valid copy of a license, location location, list of shipping agents with names, addresses, telephone numbers, photos and other details.
Shipping agents should not be less than 21 years.
Each retailer can involve a maximum of 10 shipping agents.
Customers must register for evidence of the age and address of the online portal.
Eligible customers can order online up to three liters of liquor.
Online home delivery will be between 11:00 am and 10:00.
