Only 30% were attached to Assam amid the third wave threat

Guwahati: Although the Ministry of Health Union has warned countries to be prepared for the third wave of Covid-19, around 70% of the population in this country are still waiting to be immunized.
This was informed by the Minister of Health of the Keshab Mahanta in a reply to the MLA Congress and opposition leader, Debabrata Saikia, on Friday.
Mahanta told the house that from 2.37 Crore estimated 18+ people in the state, 85.41 lakh people were vaccinated.
From them, 70.71 lakh got the first dose, while 14.69 lakh received the second jab.
“Nearly 30% of the Projection of 18+ Population Assam has been vaccinated.
From here, about 7% get both doses.” “The second dose is given in the specified time.
Nobody missed the second shot.
The district returns the covaxin dose to us after giving the second jab To the recipient of the registered benefits, “Manganta added.
Previously Saikia raised concerns over the slow rate of vaccination in Assam as if only around 43,000 people in the country were vaccinated.
At this level, he said vaccinating the total population of adults would take two and a half years.
Furthermore Saikia said the target of three lakh vaccinations per day cannot be achieved by the State Health Department as insisting on June.
But Manganta blamed the lack of sufficient vaccine supplies to slow down the vaccination process.
He said Assam had received around 85 lakh vaccines to date, called it a significant number.
“Much depends on vaccine production.
Assam has been able to vaccinate more people than many other countries,” he added.
“From June 21 to June 23, during the mega vaccination trip, 9.84 lakh people were vaccinated in Assam.
Until the date we have a mechanism to analyzen five beneficiaries of the lakh every day, if there is enough supply,” Manganta said.
He said the vaccine worth Rs 43 Crore was purchased by the state government until the center supplied them for free for the entire population of adults.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pijush Hazarika, in his defense of drive vaccination in the country, said the confusion was created in the minds of the people by several leaders of the Congress and the Jamajwadi Party at the national level regarding the efficacy of the dosage and the leadership for some waste vaccines.
Wazed Legislator Congress Ali Choudhury denied the allegations flattened against the leaders of Congress as unfounded.
“People demand a vaccine in the Char area (river area) but there is no vaccine.
I want to ask the Minister of Health whether he will make the provisions of vaccination at Riverine Hospitals in Chars (Sand Bars),” Choudhury said.
Manganta accepts guaranteed advice and steps will be taken for the char area such as being done in a long-range hilly area where medical team moves are being deployed for vaccination purposes.
The cleanliness of the vaccine in the river area inhabited by a minority community is the main problem beforehand, but now the Ministry of Health has been able to convince them about the need for total immunization.
Congress MLAs protested the lack of vaccines in their constituencies and the assemblies were postponed until 3pm by the speaker.
