Chandigarh / Mohali: One day after the former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini was arrested by Punjab Police, Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday directing the police to immediately release him.
The High Court, after the hearing of the marathon, was held that the arrest of Saini violated the previous court order on October 11, 2018, and September 23, 2020, and anticipatory guarantee was given on August 12, 2021.

Saini was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday night in connection with corruption cases.

Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi from the High Court passed this order when he heard the ongoing petition submitted by Saini who was looking for a bail bail.

The Saini application was submitted through Advocococe Senior Aps Deol and Advocate Jasdev Singh Mehandiratta also asked the court to maintain any proposal to capture it in criminal matters in delays for a certain period of time, allowing them to seek legal treatment.
The Saini’s legal team gave a briefing that despite being given on September 23, 2020, Punjab officials made an effort to arrest him allegedly involving it in fake cases.
Saini has also searched for the transfer of investigating cases registered against it to the CBI or other independent agents.
The petition submitted by Saini was waiting for a long time and scheduled for the trial on November 24.
However, the application has been carried out to be heard by HC on Thursday.
The case witnessed the marathon session on Thursday because after hearing for several hours in the morning, HC delayed this problem to hear 3pm.
However, the trial continued for more than eight hours in the afternoon, and finally, the order was announced at around 11:30 a.m.
Previously on Thursday morning, HC also looked for complete details from the state government about the arrest of Saini, FIR, and other details about his arrest.
