Guwahati: Police on Monday destroyed the gang between countries involved in illegal trade in human organs in Morigaon Regency Central Assam.
The police also arrested one Ramen Medhi – believed to be the gang gang -dari Dakshin Dharamtul Village in this district.
Before the arrest of Medhi, the police had arrested two agents – a woman identified as Nilima Boro and her son beat Boro – who were involved in the racket.
The accusation was alleged to run illegal kidney trade in Dakshin Dharamtul Village over the past few years.
Medhi told the media about one Plabon Borthakur from Dhubri and other Poddar Rajesh from Morigon who were also involved in the racket.
The case has been registered at the Jagiroad police station in the Morigaon district of the defendant under the relevant sections of the Indian Criminal Code.
Reacting to the arrest of Medhi, the President of the Dakhin Dharamtul Doloi Defense Party, said: “The accusation was used to bring villagers to Kolkata by luring them with a large amount of payment of money to sell their kidneys.”
