Bagalkot: Padma Shri Awardee Social Actics and Spiritual Thinkers Ibrahim Sutar died in Mahalingapur in Bagalka Karnataka District on Saturday morning after suffering a massive heart attack.
The 81-year-old child survived his wife, a son and two daughters.
Ibrahim was born on May 10, 1940 for the couple of Nabisaheb and Aminabi carpenter.
He has dropped school after pursuing grade 3 because of poverty.
Along by working as a weaver, he attended Namaz at a local mosque but developed interest in knowing the core of religion and other traditions.
He, then, began attending Bhajans in Mutt Local and Temple.
He was one of those who floated ‘Bhaivaikyada Janapada Sangeeetha Mela’ in 1970.
Spiritual thinkers began to give discourse along with singing Bhajan songs, Vachhanas, Philosophical and Soofi.
He gave thousands of spiritual discourses in Karnataka, Maharashtra and other states.
He also tried to create awareness among rural people against superstition.
He dear referred to as ‘Kabir of Karnataka’.
He was honored by various state and national awards including Padma Shri in 2018.
He had Lakh followers of sermons and songs on social media.
The Chairperson of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai, opposition leader in the Sidaramaiah Assembly, opposition leader at the B K B-Hari Council and the others spent Ibrahim’s death and remembering his contribution to the public.
