Chandigarh: When the country continues to fight containing Covid-19 ahead of the potential of the third wave, testing has fallen in several Punjab districts.
While the total test of the entire state of the state is more than 40,000, the testing rate in 13 districts has slipped under the average test of the country per million populations.
From these districts, 10 in the last seven days was tested for less than the national average, which was less than the average testing of Punjab.
The test per million population data from the last seven days of the State Health Department revealed that on the average state of 1,326 tests per million, Ferozepur only conducted 622 tests over the past week, 671 in Mosa, 948 in Fazilka, 1,115 in Sangrur, 1,138 in Patiala, 1,141 in Tarn Taran, 1,165 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 1,168 in Amritsar, 1,251 in Hoshiarpur, 1,253 in Mohali and 1,287 in Ropar.
Punjab has the capacity to do more than 45,000 RT-PCR tests in a day.
Not only that, from 13 districts, the introductual test in seven districts is much higher than the overall weekly level of office of 0.09%.
Mohali, which recorded the highest level of front of 0.37% over the past seven days, only did 1,253 tests per million populations.
With a level of 8.23% of Pathankot, Pathankot emerged as the second worst performing district which had a level of participation more than the average country.
Other districts that record higher participants, including Ropar (0.16%), Bathinda (0.16%), Faridkot (0.14%), Hoshiarpur (0.12%), Amritsar (0.11% ), Patiala (0.11%) and Jalandhar (0.11%).
The decline in testing in a large number of districts has left experts because more samples have been found positive for a very contagious Delta variant quickly (B.1.6.17) from Covid-19.
In accordance with the latest data from the genomic consortium of SARS-COV-2 India (Insacog), the count of testing of positive samples for the caring variant has risen from 2,072 to 2,363.
Of the total 1,014 samples were Delta variants that accounted for around 43% of the total variants of concerns detected in the state.
Punjab Covid-19 Nodal Officer Dr.
Rajesh Bhaskar associated a decrease in the number of tests for the lower number of fresh cases every day.
“Because of a decrease in a positive case, the number of contacts also goes down, leads in testing.
In addition to contact, symptomatic and randomized testing,” said Dr.
Bhaskar.
On average, Punjab traces 17.5 individual contacts infected in the past week.
He said the districts left behind in testing had been directed to ensure an increase in the level.

In the Mohali district, 27.4% have received Jab, while in Hoshiarpur 20.5% of the eligible population fully immunized, 18.8% in Pathankot, 18.5% in Jalandhar, 16.8% in Nawanshahr and 15, 9% in Gurdaspur.
