Amritsar: Ending speculation on the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) seat of President Navjot Singh Sidhu, Congress on Saturday announced his name from the Constituency of the East Amritsar Assembly, which is currently represented by Sidhu himself.
Of the 25 seats, Congress on Saturday announced 20 seats and had not announced the names of candidates in five seats.
Parties have replaced one candidate respectively from Amritsar and Pathankot districts and two candidates from Gurdapur Regency.
In Amritsar, Congress has maintained nine candidates when he has replaced a candidate and has not announced the name of his candidate in a single seat.
Candidates who have been lowered are Navjot Singh Sidhu, Amritsar East, Sunil Dutti, North Amritsar, OP Soni Amritsar Central, Inderbir Singh Bolaver Amritsar South, Raj Kumar Verka Barat, Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Ajnala, Sukhjin, Santokh, Jandiala, Santokh Singh, Baba Bakhwinder Bakhwinder Singh Sarkaria, Rajasi.
After Sukhjinder Raj Singh Lali Majithia joined the AAM AADMI party – he was contested on the Congress ticket from Majitha in 2017 – the party had lowered Jagwindal Singh while the candidate from the Constituency of the Assembly Attari had not yet been announced.
Congress MLA Tarsem Singh DC currently represents the Constituency of Attari.
In the Tarn Taran District, the party has retained the Harminder Singh Gill and Dharambir Agnihotri from Patti and Tarn Taran respectively.
It has not made a decision about the chair of Khadur Sahib and Khemkaran which is currently represented by Ramanjit Singh Sahota and Sukhpal Singh Bhullar.
In the Pathankot district, Amit Vij, MLA sat maintained at Pathankot Seatseption Amit Singh was replaced with Naresh Puri.
Amit Hadlost Election 2017 to the Dinesh Party of Bharatiya Janata Singh from the Sujanpur seat while Naresh Puri has been contested as an independent candidate and stands third.
Congress has not received a call on the constituency of the BHOA Assembly, represented by Pal Mla Joglinder.
In the district of Gurdaspur has replaced Fatehjang Singh Bajwa and Balwinder Singh from the Proptuement of Qadian and Sri Hargobindpur with Partap Singh Bajwa and Mandeep Singh Rangar Nangar while maintained Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Aruna Chaudhary, Tripe Singh Bajwa and Barindermet Singh Phara from Dera Baba Nanak, Dinagar, The constituency of Fatehgarh Churian and Gurdaspur respectively.
The party has not announced the Batala candidate.
