Chandigarh: On another jolt to the leadership Congress in Punjab, former Prison Minister Sarwan Singh Philaur and his son Damanvir Singh left the party and joined Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt).
MLA six times, Philaur, who is a prominent face in the Doaba region, joined sadly (Sanyukt) in front of the party president and members of Rajya Sabha Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa in Mohali.
He was previously with Shiromani Akali Dal and has left him to join Congress in 2016.
Philaur has resigned as a cabinet minister in the SAD-BJP government about ‘moral land’ in May 2014 after his son’s name has appeared in multi- crore Bhola Racket medicine Money laundering charges.
The Mohali CBI court in October 2018 is framed against Philaur, his son Damanvir and others in the case of money laundering registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Then the Supreme Court in January 2019 remained a court process of Mohali against Philaur.
“Leaders like it, regardless of their hard work, have no place and respect at Congress because Congress is only interested in printing money by exploiting Punjab and the source of the house,” Dhindsa said.
Philaur claims all parties such as Congress and are sad in gloves with drug mafia, sand and transportation, who have eaten into the country’s vital.
Damanvir said that Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary was given a Congress ticket from Philaur despite the fact that the Chaudhary family had lost three final assembly elections.
