Chandigarh: Asking the alleged misuse of funds under the postmatric scholarship scheme for scheduled castes in Punjab, the anti-corruption branch of the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) in Chandigarh has asked the state government to share the complete record of the case.
The CBI had written a letter to the main secretary of the Department of Social Justice, empowerment and minority from the Punjab government on Tuesday in this case there were charges against the Cabinet Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot misuse of funds.
The CBI anti-corruption branch in Chandigarh has registered a preliminary investigation to the case on June 30 based on a letter written by the Minister of Justice and empowerment to the CBI Directorate in New Delhi.
The Union Ministry has requested an investigation of alleged misuse of funds under the post-matrix scholarship scheme.
AAP, BJP looked for the CBI probe in Casea Probe into fraud allegedly in the post-matrix scholarship scheme in August last year held that Dharamsot, social justice, empowerment and minority minority and his team had worked together and caused Fececuueper to lose more than Rs 55 Crore.
Shankar Saroj’s christication, then the Secretary of the Additional Dharamsot Head itself, in his report has said: “Looking to the factual position of the role played by each authority / official to distribute Crore RS 248.11 strangely, it is recommended that the right actions may be initiated.” Then, Chairman of Captain Amarinder Singh asked the main secretary to ask that, and ultimately based on this report, CM had given Chit Chit for Dharamsot.
The opposition parties in Punjab, including Shiromani Aakali Dal (sad), the AAM AADMI Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have demanded the CBI probe in this case and has asked the Minister of Chief to immediately dismiss Dharamsot for the allegation of involvement in fraud.
