Times News Network Chandigarh: The Advanced Endoscopic Center was inaugurated at the Gastroenterology Department, PGI by Dr.
D Reddy, a recipient of Padma Bhushan.
The Director of PGI Prof.
Jagat Ram led the function, which was attended by former director Prof.
Y K Chawla and former Prof.
Kartar Singh Department.
Dr.
Ajay Kumar, Chairman, Dr B L L Kapoor Hospital, New Delhi is a guest of honor.
Prof.
Usha Dutta, Head of the Department said, “This new center has advanced equipment for sophisticated complex endoscopy procedures and new units of fluoroscopy c-arm units other than speed glass equipment.
This center will provide a big boost on the new third endoscope domain, which Includes procedures such as myotomy endoscopy per oral (poetry).
“Poetry is an endoscopic procedure used to treat swallowing disorders.
The benefits of having endoscopic procedures, especially for swallowing interference, is that there is no incision in the chest or stomach and minimal or sometimes there is no hospital procedure.
Another addition to the department is a new automatic disinfection unit to sterilize endoscopy to resolve the risk of transmission of infection.
Dr.
D N Reddy delivered the first PGI gastroenterology speech.
He told his journey at the endoscopy of two-year training in PGI to become a leading international expert in the endoscopy.
Dr.
Rakesh Kochhar, a former head of the department provided details about the history of the department since the beginning as the distribution of the Ministry of Medicine in 1967, with a special status as a special department recognized for its services in India and internationally.
