Chandigarh: Remembering to recede in the Covid case, PGI plans to limit the use of personal protective equipment (PPES) to Covid Icus and only Covid testing laboratories, on the New Delhi AIIMS lines.
The meeting will be held soon to complete this.
AIIMS has revised its guidelines relating to PPE for health care workers during a pandemic.
To ensure HCWS security, the institution decided to allow PPE-based dresses in non-covid areas, emergency areas and screening.
There is also an option to have PPES-based dresses or coverall in Covid ICU and laboratories.
“We have circulated modified guidelines among members of our committee who are negotiating on the guidelines.
Feedback from HCW has been taken.
We will immediately receive the last call on the same thing,” said Prof.
Arunaloke Chakrabarthi, Head of the Department of Microbiology, PGI.
PPE-based dress kit includes dresses with N95 masks, glasses with facial shields, gloves and long shoe cover.
AIIMS also recommends the right N95 or the equivalent mask to meet the standards needed in the clinical area.
“It’s not easy to wear clothes and do routine activities at the hospital.
Initially, there were many requests and shortcomings of the consequences of coverall when the pandemic had just begun.
But with the generation of evidence, it was clear that there were no protection requirements in the non-covid infection zone or Less, “said a faculty at PGI.
PGI gets PPE stock from Goi and there are teams that check the quality of equipment donated to HCWS.
“HCW security must be remembered.
Guidelines will be approved once they agree with team members,” said a faculty in PGI.
