Chandigarh: Because the patient’s rush in the ops, PGI has stopped testing fast antigens and RPCR tests for patients, unless they need operation or entry.
The source said it was not feasible to test a large number of patients every day.
“Initially, PGI was testing every patient who visited OPD but after inflow the patient increased, testing stopped.
Now, social blasphemy and masking has been made mandatory,” said a faculty in PGI.
The test will also be stopped at GMCH 32 because the number of patients in OPDs increases.
“We are conducting rat tests on all patients during OPD but if the number of patients increases, we must think of subsequent regulations in addition to the test that cannot be done at all,” said the medical supervisor, GMC-32 Prof.
Sudhir Gupta.
In addition, none of these hospitals mandated at least one dose of vaccination.
Public health experts feel that even after vaccination, there is a possibility of mild to moderate infection.
“That is why, we ask not to stop wearing a mask because it is still a strong protective shield against Covid,” said a public health expert.
PGI has not made mandatory vaccination.
“Although patients are advised to undergo vaccination, it is not mandatory but RT PCR is required for each ticket to the hospital for medical treatment or surgery,” said Director PGI, Prof.
Jagat Ram.
