Chandigarh: The police on Tuesday used tear shells and water cannons to dissolve the teachers when they tried to solve the barricade placed on the Chandigarh-Mohali border in an effort to reach the official residence of Punjab CM in Chandigarh.
When a number of teachers protested, including women, tried to impose their way through barricades, Chandigarh police used water cannons and tear shells to prevent them from heading at CM.
During protests, many police and police and women were injured and protested the teacher claiming that they also suffered injuries.
Demanding that their services be arranged, temporary teachers have protested outside the Punjab school education council building in Mohali for the past few days.
Under the banner of the temporary teacher union, they had planned to surround the official residence of the Minister of Punjab to suppress their demands.
