Chandigarh: The number of Rs 6.51 Lakh is allegedly drawn from the automatic deposit machine for Bank State of India (ADWM) in sector 30 more than three days in cases of fraud that have confused banks and police.
Aastha Singh, Head of Manager, SBI, Sector 30, said they found a difference in the amount when cleaning cash on the machine installed in the bank on June 15, 2021, while calculating it with a withdrawal balance and cash.
Bank officials found the total difference in denominations of Rs 500 for 1,302 notes (Rs 500 x 1,302 notes).
The bank began verifying entries with the ADWM log and found a number of transactions behind due to “H / W” (Hardware) errors between June 11, 2021, and June 13, 2021.
Bank officials found four alleged entries on June 11, June 25 and 38 on June 13 .
When bank officials examined CCTV footage, officials found people who accessed the engine during those days and tried several ATM cards one by one.
Banks suspect these people have made fraud transactions.
