Bengaluru: After receiving several letters about the alleged Bitcoin scam that has dominated Karnataka’s politics in the last few days, the Prime Minister’s office was reportedly updated by central agencies that investigated cases.
Social activist Girish Bharadwaj on October 19 wrote to PM Narendra Modi, explaining the threat of cryptocurrency and looking for prohibitions.
Following this, the social organization of the rights of Citizen on October 25 wrote to Modi, asking him to refer to the case to the CBI, the Directorate of Enforcement Intelligence, the Directorate of Enforcement and Nia.
The source said the PMO also received an anonymous letter which mentioned the names of Karnataka politicians who were allegedly involved in fraud and the sender asked PM to conduct a detailed investigation.
“I was given to understand that PMO had warned institutions and departments based on my letter.
I have received recognition from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs,” Bharadwaj said.
The source in knowledge said PMO was very watching development.
“PMO is studying the political aspects of the case and allegations of the involvement of politicians.
This will receive a call on a greater investigation and the necessary actions of politicians who are suspected of being involved at the right time,” said a source.
