Guwahati: Police Assam arrested a man in cooch district Behar Bengal on Monday for allegedly killing a guard in the Maligaon Guwahati region on November 5.
The defendant, Vicy Sahani, was a native of Bordola in the condition of the Pundibari police in Cooch Behar.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Guwahati District) Nabaneet Mahanta said the defendant escaped after committing murder.
Sahani will be produced before the Chief Justice of the Judge Judge, Kamrup (Metro), on Tuesday, he said.
“The murder motive is not confirmed,” added Manganta.
He said, “The police were investigating the case and tracking it back to Cooch Behar.
A team went there and picked him up,” he added.
The police have identified the deceased like Tarun Deka.
He used to work as a security guard at Maligaon Bazar and was a resident of Mangaldai in the Darrang District Assam.
According to the police, the guards were roasted to death with a piece of wood on November 5 and all actions were arrested on the CCTV camera placed nearby.
CCTV footage shows that two people, who are drunk, go to the Bipul Complex.
Sahani then pointed out wooden bats and attacked Deka.
Dekasa’s body was found in early morning November 6, added the police.
