Mysuru: A college girl born from tea shop owner in MySuru on Wednesday led the NCC contingent at the Republican Day Parade, when his parents watched at home and radiated proudly.
He is the NCC cadet from St Joseph’s College, Jayalakshmipuram, and pursues BSC at Maharani Science College for women.
Senior under Pramila Kunwar officers from 3 Karnataka Girls Battalion based in MySuru are BSC students at Maharani Science College for women.
His parents, Pratap Singh Devki and Pushpa Kunwar had moved from Devki Village, at Jalore Rajasthan, to Mysuru, when Pramila was only one.
“We watched him lead the contingent on TV.
The whole family witnessed this special moments together,” Pratap, who runs his tea shop on Jalan Kalidasa in the city, said.
“We are proud of Pramila,” he radiated.
Pramila’s interest varies, and includes painting, dancing, and music.
He likes to play guitar.
He has won merit certificates in international mathematical competitions and English.
His hobby is numismatic (collecting coins), family words.
“Since the beginning, he was active in academic and extra-curricular activities,” said an NCC official.
“He was in Scouts & Guides.
He has ordered a contingent in the Dasara yard during the visit of the governor and minister’s chairman.
He joined the NCC senior wing in class XI in St.
Joseph’s School in 2020.
He was a Covid-19 soldier, and had served on Covid-19 Room Regency, “NCC official said.
