Chandigarh: Punjab on Sunday reported 158 fresh Covid-19 cases that took the calculation of infection to 5,96,416 while five fatalities encouraged the death toll to 16,110, said a medical bulletin.
Bathinda reported 23 new cases, followed by 14 in Amritsar and 13 in Ludhiana, among other districts, he said.
The last death was reported from Amritsar, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Jalandhar and Muktsar.
There are 2,324 cases of Covid-19 active in Punjab.
While 96 critical patients on ventilator support, 314 critical patients and other 1,405 in oxygen support, said the bulletin.
The state has a 0.39 percent participant level, he said.
A total of 358 Koronavirus patients recovered from infection the previous day, took the amount of recovery to 5,77,982, said Bulletin.
So far, 1,10,81,636 samples have been collected for testing in the state, he said.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 Chandigarh increased to 61,728 with 10 new cases, according to medical bulletins.
No fresh death reported in the Union region.
The Death Toll stands in 808, said Bulletin.
The number of active cases in Chandigarh stood in 143, he said.
As many as 60,777 Coronavirus patients have been repatriated after recovering from infection, including 16 days earlier, said the bulletin.
So far, 5,73,440 samples have been taken for testing.
Of these, 5.10.452 the sample was tested negative while the 10 report was awaited, he said.
